From the iconic Rippon Amphitheatre to The Hall and then through to the newly renovated Marquee, there are so many spaces to create gorgeous floral moments throughout your special day at Rippon. Our approach is to dive into your vision, how you want your day to feel and what moments matter most, while combining that with the natural landscape Rippon sits upon.

Having designed close to 100 weddings at the venue we understand the spaces in depth and can bring that knowledge to your day. We know what works, what transforms and how to make Rippon feel uniquely yours. Being local means we have relationships with all the wonderful growers in the region, something we’re proud to nurture and something you get when choosing to go ahead with us.

Whether you're choosing a fully planned celebration with one of the many amazing local planners, an intimate ceremony or an elopement with just the two of you we’d love to talk you through what's possible at Rippon.

Amphitheatre

This is the moment. The first touchpoint of your guests' day, where their breath is taken away by the scenery and where you finally say 'I do'. We're known for our Signature Love Nests in the Rippon Amphitheatre along with abundant aisles to match. An organic installation that feels as if it's grown straight from the ground, encapsulating you and your partner as you walk down the aisle and say your vows, all while overlooking the Rippon heritage vines.

We let the landscape do the talking, rather than competing with the stunning view across the iconic Lake Wanaka.

Our designs tend to focus on creating arrangements that feel natural and spacious, using a mix of textured foliage and grasses with seasonal local blooms, such as the most spectacular dahlias from Ash at Wild Flora.

This is usually the space where your cocktail hour unfolds, those first golden moments as newlyweds. We love to dress the bar and Major and Minors leaners in arrangements, carrying the design of the ceremony into the afternoon so each space at Rippon feels considered and cohesive.

The Hall

As you make your way through the venue, The Hall at Rippon is a multi-functional space where the fun begins as you dance the night away and where one of our favourite creations comes to life: a cascade of flowers draped across the bar. A Cascading Bar installation is where we really play, creating a moment that is truly unforgettable and sets the tone for the rest of your night.

This space also serves as a wet weather option, and a stunning one at that, looking out into the depths of the Southern Alps. We've dressed Rippon many times over, creating Flower Towers and low-lying Floral Nests. You can rest assured that if your plan changes the morning of your wedding, we’re experienced at adapting quickly to the weather and making this space feel just as intentional. Besides, an industry secret is that we love to create indoors, out of the elements your blooms are going to be long lasting and stay pristine.

The Marquee

In the newly renovated Rippon Marquee, we transform the space by covering the pillars in foliage and blooms so it feels like stepping into a natural wonderland. This creates a canopy that surrounds you and your guests as you enjoy your reception with your favourite people.

Along the tables, we love to create floralscapes so the floral language carries from one moment to the next throughout the day.

Floralscapes mixed with mood setting candles from Revel and Light create an intentional organic feel and give visual depth to Rippon's space, it's one of the most effective ways to bring atmosphere to a large space so it feels full.

We usually ask you:

  • Is your day centered around you and your partner's experience, your guests' experience or a mix of both?

  • How do you want your day to feel?

  • Where do you envision spending the most of your time?

Our advice to bringing it all together

Wedding flowers at Rippon work best when the whole day is considered and there is a clear visual language throughout. Our number one piece of advice that we pass on to couples is to focus your floral investment in a few key areas rather than spreading it thinly.

These questions will help you decide how we go about designing your day at Rippon and give you a clear direction to what spaces matter most.

If you're in the early stages of planning and want to understand where your floral investment will have the most impact across the venue, get in touch with us. We'd love to walk you through how we'd approach your day at Rippon.
